In memory of Robert Gould Shaw the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment. Shaw was an American officer in the Union Army during the American Civil War. I have so much respect for this guy and it was such an honor to come and visit this monument. Matthew Broderick portrayed Shaw in the 1989 film Glory. Highly recommend the movie :)
